wlan interface not found on current snapshots for TEW-632BRP

I am using image openwrt-ar71xx-tew-632brp-squashfs.uni from the current snapshots, default image.

What's the deal here?  After installing kmod-ath9k via opkg and rebooting, the WLAN interface still does not exist.  Is the ath9k module broken for this platform or what?  Is there something that needs to be done to get the device working?

Also, why is kmod-ath9k not in the image for this platform?  This is the right wireless device driver, right?

Additional info;

Snapshot is from 25-Nov-2009, but multiple previous versions from the last 60 days are the same.

Below is output from ifconfig -a, dmesg, lsmod, and a few other things that might be helpful.  I think the driver is just farked or something.

What's the overall status on this platform?  I notice that upstream OpenWRT last release for this was 13-Aug-2009.  That can't be good.  Why would nobody like these?

Please don't reply if you don't actually want to assist.  That didn't help at all, and it's really obvious that it wasn't intended to help.

What is this magical "wifi" that you speak of, exactly?

Is it the drivers?  Because I said that I had installed and loaded the ath9k driver, which I believe is what this platform uses, and it would not detect the network interfaces.  Is the driver borked?  Is there something else that needs to be compiled into the snapshot kernel that I am obviously not aware of?

Sorry it was late at night when I responded, the ath9k drivers are not built into the image, and currently installing afterwards is borked, I have not had time to track down this issue yet.

My dir615 has the same problem.
I installed hostapd and kmod-ath9k with the r18989.
But wifi detect can not find the device. when I use the OpenWrt firware, wifi was OK.
Are there any other packages needed for ath9k?
