OK guys if your like me and stuck with Windows OS but would like to compile your own images I ran across this site by accident.  http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/VirtualBox works in both Windows and Linux and it is opensource...Wahoo..might be a good solution for all of you daring to take the plunge and compiling your own.

vmware server/player is also free

Yes, vmware is free too, but it doesn't work on Vista  Wink

I tried virtualbox with an installation on Windows Vista, running a Windows 2000 Server within the VM and it worked very good.

Thanks for the link, helped a lot for testing....
