We need more CSS themes! To create a new theme:

1. create a new subdirectory on your router in /www/themes/ named after your new theme, i.e. /www/themes/carebears.[/li][/list]
2. copy the contents of /www/themes/xwrt into your new directory.
3. edit the files in your theme's directory.
4. send us your theme (post theme here in the forum).

Themes will eventually be exposed like the languages are, as seperate packages but transparently installed when the user selects to use one. In this way we can have hundreds of themes and no extra space will be wasted on the router.

Contributors get credit for their theme on the about page. Thanks to all who contribute to X-Wrt!

I came up with a theme I like to call zephyr.

http://patrick.geek.nz/download/zephyr/

There's a zip a and a couple of screenshots. It needs testing in IE and Gecko browsers on Windows/Linux, but it should work in the latter at least.

My stuff is all MIT licensed.

Very nice looking theme Wink.

I'll work on finishing the theme package support and create a package for your theme. If you don't already have write access to the repository, create an account and send me the username. Then, you can update your theme's package as you work on it.

I'll post here when I have the package created for this theme.

Checked in a new version that works with r1767, and in IE7.

Need to have a look through and see if I can't make some more themey improvements in some of the individual section pages.

Cool, thanks. I just got the final quirks out of the installable theme support (I hope anyway), so you should have the 'masses' start using your theme very soon Wink.

In case you haven't noticed, a little while ago I killed color_common.css, merging it with webif.css. So if your theme uses that file, be sure to throw its contents into webif.css. This is part of an effort to reduce the number of files in the webif wherever possible.

I'm not using color_common.css in zephyr.

I look forward to be able to use the installable theme support Smiley

It should already be working. I will give it a good test later to make sure it is indeed doing ok.

NOTE TO THEME DEVELOPERS:

There have been major simplifications in the HTML and CSS structure of Webif².

The default and the zephyr scheme have been restructured, commented and lightened by almost 300 lines each.
It should now be alot easier to understand the default css, modify it and create new ones.

The color switcher also has been changed and will soon be ready for other themes too (currently hardcoded).

Btw, if you notice a bit faster rendering of the pages, that's because loads of unnecessary divs have been removed Cheesy
